Hyundai Kona: Rear Door / Rear Door Latch Repair procedures

Replacement

1.	Remove the rear door outside handle. (Refer to Rear Door - "Rear Door Outside Handle")

Loosen the rear door latch mounting screws.

Tightening torque :

6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf.m, 5.0 - 8.0 lb-ft)

Loosen the rear outside handel base mounting screw (A) and connector (B).

Tightening torque :

3.9 - 7.8 N.m (0.4 - 0.8 kgf.m, 2.9 - 5.8 lb-ft)

After loosening the mounting nuts, remove the rear door channel (A).

Tightening torque :

3.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.4 - 0.6 kgf.m, 2.9 - 4.3 lb-ft)

5.	Remove the rear door latch (A).

6.	After loosening the rear door outside handle rod (A), remove the rear door outside handle base (B).

To install, reverse removal procedure.

•	Make sure the connector is connected properly.

•	Make sure the door locks / unlocks and opens / closes properly.

•	Replace any damaged clips (or pin-type retainers).
